Music Notation & Edition

Film scores are often created under great time pressure. Only rarely do composers, studios and publishers consider a concert performance in the process leading up to the original film recording. In order to realise this, intensive preparatory work is necessary, especially for scores from the first half of the 20th century. We take care of this for our clients.

Some manuscripts that are needed for a performance in a concert do not exist and have to be created in arrangements by us. Others exist only in handwritten or incomplete form without individual parts. The manuscripts therefore require extensive work that makes a live performance by an orchestra possible in the first place.

This is where we come in: With our team of experts, we create a uniform score that can be performed without conductors and musicians having to worry about incorrect transpositions or inadequate dynamic instructions. Our error-free, standard-compliant transcriptions, including all individual parts, become – depending on the licensing agreement – part of our Filmphilharmonic Edition, a catalogue of recognisable scores in a uniform layout.
