Newsletter I CHRISTOPHER YOUNG’S NOSFERATU

Dear all

Our latest FilmConcert production is a stunning combination of an iconic silent film classic and the music of a Hollywood cult composer. We’re referring to Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau’s masterwork NOSFERATU – A SYMPHONY OF HORROR (1922) and the work of the equally legendary composer Christopher Young.

In Young’s own words, composing a new score for NOSFERATU has been both «a frightening thing» and «a dream come true». Under the spell of the film’s title – ”A Symphony of Horror” – the composer has created a mind-blowing gothic symphony for organ and orchestra that transports the listener to an «invisible world» of darkness, dread and mystery. A work of uninhibited fantasy resurrecting the power and purity of Murnau’s immortal masterpiece.

Rich in eerie melodies and ferocious rhythmic patterns, NOSFERATU is a landmark in Christopher Young’s illustrious career. «Even though I’ve done so many horror films», he claims, «this is the best thing I’ve ever done.» Coming from the composer of HELLRAISER, DRAG ME TO HELL, SPIDERMAN 3 and GUILLERMO DEL TORO’S CABINET OF CURIOSITIES, that’s quite a statement!
